Maria Skeppstedt is a postdoctoral researcher at Gavagai/Linnaeus University. She received a PhD from Stockholm University in 2015 and a M.Sc. in Computer Science from Royal Institute of Technology in 2002. Her previous research in the Clinical Text Mining Group at Stockholm University focused on negation detection and named entity recognition in clinical text.
She is currently working on stance detection, active learning and distributional semantics in the StaViCTA (STAnce in discourse using VIsual and Computational Text Analytics) project.
In addition, Maria Skeppstedt has five years of experience as a systems developer at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan). She is also a co-owner of Popab, which specialises in walking canes, elbow crutches and their accessories.
