Split Ph.D. Program
The split Ph.D. program has provided for 8 split Ph.D.s in the field of Information Technology. The first split Ph.D. candidate commenced his work at the University of Stockholm in 1999. By the end of 1999 all 8 Ph.D. students, all members of the Academic staff of the Universities of Colombo, Moratuwa, Ruhuna and Peradeniya had commenced work. Each student is expected to spend half the period of study in Sri Lanka and the other half in Sweden.
