The process of creating this webpage has been something of an itterative one. When I first started working on the site I had something more playful in mind. You can view the first design by klicknig this link to the old page.
However I soon realized that the overall design of the first website was not what I was going for at all. I want this page to act as a portfolio for future reference, and a playful design would not suit this purpose. That's why, in the end I opted for this somewhat more professional feel. In my opinion there is no "good structure" for a website, it all depends on the intended target audience. Although personally I always preferr a clean website to a cluttered one.
When I created the menu-system for the site I had two goals that I wanted to achive. First that it would be simple to navigate and second that it would fit the overall design of the webpage. I feel that I have achived what i wanted to do pretty well. I have a simple topmenu that blends well with the design while being easy to spot. The submenu on the "Laborations" page while not standing out in the same way, should allso be fairly easy to spot since it uses the same font, fontsize and overall style as the topmenu while the textcontent on the website is in a different font.
