Hey there, designers! Let’s strive to create solutions that are not only useful and aligned with business goals, but that are also ethical. Here's a simple workshop format to kick-start the journey! The workshop is available as Google Slides (choose Make a copy > Entire presentation).
By mapping out ethical problems, prioritizing them, and collectively imagining and creating potential solutions, we can develop a shared understanding of how to move towards more ethical design.
The workshop in itself will not “solve” ethical issues – but it will create “seedlings” 🌱
These seedlings need an action plan, assigned responsibility, and follow-up in order to take root, grow and bloom.
This workshop is part of the PhD project of Sharon Lindberg, Stockholm University. The project explores the ethics of design from design practitioners' perspectives.
This is an early draft, so it's bound to have some problems. Help make the workshop better by sharing your thoughts, suggestions, questions, critique and/or stories from real use. Let me know what you think at hello@thedesignethicsworkshop.com
