The use of natural language in relation to software applications has contributed to both improving the development process from the viewpoint of developers (improving the processes of conceptual modelling, validation, etc.) and to improving the usability of applications by users (natural language query interfaces, semantic webs, etc.). The Workshop on Applications of Natural Language for Information Systems has for the past years provided a centralised forum for academic and industrial researchers and practitioners to discuss the application of natural language to both the development and use of software applications.
