The EU Data DirectiveThe EU directive and national legislation, based on it, regulates handling of personal information by organisations in EU countries. The Safe Harbour AgreementThe Safe Harbour Agreement extends, to some extent, the EU directive to the U.S.A. American organisations can certify themselves as following certain privacy protection principles, and can then import personal information from people and organisations in EU. U.S.A. will keep a list of which U.S. companies have been certified. Links to more information
