More hotel and tourist info for Stockholm.
Business class tickets to Stockholm are quite expensive, typical costs are in the range 800-1200 Euros. Economy class tickets are usually available at a much lower cost, around 300-400 Euros. They have to be booked several weeks in advance and cannot be cancelled. Economy class tickets often require that you stay in Stockholm for the night between Saturday and Sunday or, for some tickets, the night between Friday and Saturday.
Lowest air fare to Stockholm is by Ryan Air. Ryan Air flies to two airports - Skavsta and Västerås. Both are located 100 km from Stockholm. The bus ride with an airport coach to Stockholm City takes about 80 minutes (about twice as long as to Arlanda airport) and costs about 20 euros for a two-way ticket.
If you arrive at Arlanda airport, the best way is to buy (at an office immediately after passing the customs barrier) a ticket for "Flygbusstaxi". This costs about SEK 180 and includes a combination of bus and taxi. You order the taxi from the bus driver when you enter the bus, and the taxi will be waiting when the bus arrives. There are several bus lines to different areas of Stockholm, get on the right bus. At certain times, there are airport buses directly to Kista, at other times you can take the bus to Stockholm City, but exit the bus at Järva krog, och take a taxi from there to Kista.
If you are going to Kista, and if you can use the airport bus directly to Kista, you can buy an ordinary bus ticket, without included taxi. The bus will stop close to both Forum and the hotels in Kista.
There is an office in the airport arrivals hall, where you can buy a ticket for the airport bus, and they will tell you which bus to use depending on where you are going.
Do not take the airport bus all the way to Stockholm City, if you are going to Kista.
If you want to go by taxi from the airport to Stockholm, be very sure to ask for the price before boarding the taxi. Prices can vary between 385 SEK for the cheapest taxis to more than a 1000 SEK for the most expensive! Say that you want a low-price taxi, there may be different taxi queues for high- and low-price taxis.
