| Guidelines | Aligning competency management
with business strategy according to this pattern is done in two main ways.
The first focus is on improving the connection, communication and co-ordination
of, and between human resource management and business strategy events
between the company, organisational unit and individual level.
Company wide activities are, making competency development customer driven, introducing common routines for competency management and emphasise the importance of competency management to make it visible as a strategic issue. These are all process-oriented objectives, where the company needs to institutionalize an increased coordination. At the same time they entail a long-term change in attitude amongst employees and workers. The extent to which this is so will depend on partially on the degree of decentralization, divisionalization and management authority. |
