Grading

The block assignments (the ones you handed in by the end of each block) will be graded pass or fail.

The rest of the examination parts will use the full grade scale i.e. F/Fx/E/D/C/B/A and the three remaining assignments will be used to calculate the grade for the assignment part. The assignment grade and the exam grade will then be used to calculate the final grade for the entire course.

The grades will be calculated as follows: The letter grade will be translated to numbers (A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, E=0).

• * The average of the grades will be calculated
• * 0.25 will be added to the average
• * the result of the previous operations will be rounded down to the closest integer value.

Finally, the number will be translated back to a letter grade (4=A, 3=B, 2=C, 1=D, 0=E).
