At the literature seminar we will be discussing the book "The Pragmatic Programmer -- From Journeyman to Master" by Andrew Hunt and David Thomas.
The idea behind the literature seminars is to discuss the book, their relevance to the subject, etc.
The seminars will be one hour each. No seminar holds more than 7 people. If there's not enough seminars, I will first add more seminars, and then increase this figure to 10. Please sign up for seminar in advance by email to Beatrice.
Every student should prepare a 3 minute talk (not a presentation, no slides) -- presenting her opinions of the book and relating it to the course. What was the most important parts? Why were they important? What is the most important things you bring from the book? Why?
A student that fails to say something relevant will be given an opportunity to complement her input on the seminar in writing. A student that says nothing will be failed.
Having passed the literature seminar, you will give you bonus credits that can be used during the exam. The exact model for this will be presented soon, when I know more about this year's exam but will represent approximately 20% of the exam.
