	Klas Karlgren, fil. dr

	Background Doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in human-machine interaction 2003 Licentiate of philosophy (Ph.L.) in computer and systems sciences 1998 Candidate degree (fil.kand.) in psychology and philosophy 1994 Degree from the study program in information processing and computer sciences (datalinjen) 1993 My interests lie within human-machine interaction, interaction design, and situated cognition and learning. More specifically, my main interest is in technology-supported learning, instruction, and training. I try to divide up my time between the following places and organizations:


	The Laboratory for Knowledge and Communication Engineering (K2LAB) which is a research laboratory within the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences at Stockholm University and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden. I am involved in several research projects here and with a specific interest in interaction design and design patterns.


	LIME - the Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics at the medical university Karolinska Institutet - I am a researcher about half of my time there and where I am involved in medical training. Especially simulation-based training of medical teams under time-pressure.


	Raffinaderiet AB is an independent usability consultancy. I am an interaction designer and CEO at Raffinaderiet.
